Soup Kick

Tonight something changed my life. F’s stick blender. I have been eyeing this thing very very dubiously for a long long time now. The only thing I have seen him use it for was banana milkshakes. Somehow the banana milkshakes failed to capture my imagination.

But for the last few days I have been thinking, like I do every year when it starts to get cold outside, about soup. Every year I tell myself that I am going to make soup all winter and I never do. Well, for some reason I decided to actually go through with it today. We had a bags of carrots and potatoes and a box of apples. Carrot apple soup. With potatoes. And ginger for zing. And…I could use the stick blender instead of a food processor. Very very skeptical.

But you know what? It worked like a charm. Easy to use, easy to clean. Things have changed around here. You may never hear about the pizza because we have moved into the Soup Era.

Couldn’t wait to eat the soup so no lovely pics of it. Just the aftermath:
